Analysis/Strategy[]
Using this Borg[]
Acceleration Ninja thrives when using its X button attack, Ninpo Full Throttle, to crash into enemies at high speeds. It's very good at getting on opponents and sticking to them. After you crash into an enemy borg, push X again to end Ninpo Full Throttle while you're still next to your knocked down opponent. Because Acceleration Ninja is so fast, you're able to easily use Ninpo Full Throttle to dash at someone right as they stand up and become vulnerable, knocking them down again before they have a chance to do anything.
His B attack fires two energy blades at the opponent, while the charged version causes him to stop and spin in place while shooting about a dozen of the same energy blades. While the normal B attack has low damage output and forces you to stop moving to use it, the move is actually a blessing in disguise for the Kamaitachi gives you a lot more control over where you are dashing, which is very important and tricky with Acceleration Ninja. If you jump and shoot his Kamaitachi you will automatically turn to face your opponent, allowing you to dash forward into them. It is a very nice supplement to dashing and lets you mix up your approach so you aren't as predictable. Also of note is his ability to cause damage by jumping or air dashing into an opponent. He's good at dodging most attacks. Alternatively, if you need to adjust yourself quickly, you can simply jump, dash at your opponent, and then use Ninpo Full Throttle. It's astonishingly fast and you're often able to use this to run through an opponent, turn around, and dash back through them before they know what hit them. And since you can start using Ninpo Full Throttle at any point during a jump, you can use it to quickly dash over obstacles and zoom towards you opponents. There are a lot of small obstacles (like bricks in The Construction Zone) that you can just run straight over. Little tricks like this make it difficult for opponents to respond.
When most borgs quickly hop or dash to the side, they orient to face their opponent. Acceleration Ninja does not. When it slides to the side it stays facing the same direction. Use this to juke opponents out, especially if they're unfamiliar with Acceleration Ninja, you can use this to slide behind them and then attack from behind.
The charge attack is also good for poking at aerial fighters and keeping your distance in general, but it can be incredibly powerful when used against borgs larger than Acceleration Ninja. If you knock a larger opponent down, and can be where they are when they stand up (so you're inside their model), using a charged Nidare Kamaitachi can potentially hit over a dozen times and rip enemies to shreds. Very situational & difficult to master, but quite effective.
Fighting this Borg[]
Keeping your distance and using projectiles is effective. Fast laser beams that sends him flying (like Command Girl's Buster Laser) are best and also very annoying to acceleration ninja.
Additionally, if you stick to the edge of the stage or big indestructible set pieces (like the bed or bookshelves in Mana's Home) Acceleration Ninja will have a harder time approaching you. Not only does this give it less room to maneuver, but running into the level boundary or an indestructible set piece causes Acceleration Ninja to stop awkwardly, giving you a chance to strike.
In a similar vein, if you're playing against another person, and an AI isn't controlling Acceleration Ninja, flying borgs can be Acceleration Ninja's nightmare. If Acceleration Ninja is focusing on a target that's even semi-overhead the camera swings underneath them. When this borg can't see where they're running it's really difficult to use Ninpo Full Throttle without running into things. On top of that Acceleration Ninja's ranged options are rather poor.
