Analysis/Strategy[]

Using this Borg[]

Being a Hero Borg , Gold Hero's abilities are to be judged primarily upon his post-transformation attacks. His style, like the other Hero borgs, is very reminiscent of anime-style heroes in shows such as Gatchaman, featuring a transformation sequence equally as reminiscent. Gold Hero is often considered to be one of the best (if not the best) Hero borgs, and it is often disputed that Gold Hero is one of the best borgs in the game.

Gold Hero transforms via his special attack, but is relatively useless previous to his evolving. His 'original self' shoots very slow moving bullets that are, more likely than not, going to miss every time. His basic punching attacks also make you extremely vulnerable, even upon a knockdown; Because of your slow movement speed in this form, your opponenent is likely to recover from your physical attacks and come back at you before you can make any distance between the both of you.

But Gold Hero is built to shine when he finally transforms. In his Golden form, his bullets fly extremely quickly, and recharge equally as fast. He is offered two more jumps, for a total of four, and his firing speed surpasses his air dashing speed, allowing him to constantly air-dash and fire. This 'technique' is lovingly referred to by fans as his "Rain of Pain", and it is one of the most popular strategies to utilize when playing as Gold Hero. Because of his versatility in direction, and his ability to stay out of trouble while slamming the enemy, Gold Hero is considered a top-tier character. Because of his "Rain of Pain ", he is also often considered a low-tier character because of his apparent inability to mix up his game.

His special attack in his Gold Form can generally only be activated once per transformation (aside from during hyper-mode), and appears to be a large laserbeam. The attack fires through walls, and locks on rather well, following the opponent upward. However, because of it's inability to follow opponents left and right, and due to the extreme vulnerability Gold Hero experiences during and soon after initiating the attack, this move is generally left unused by players.

Gold Hero, however, is very much a 'glass-cannon'. He cannot take much damage and is thus rendered nearly useless against any borg with an instant-cannon attack, and due to the time it takes to actually hit someone enough to kill them, larger borgs are bound to strike you more than once during your endeavors. As a heavily ranged player, it is advised that you keep moving and keep your eyes on the enemy at all times.
